Pumpkin Chicken Mee Sua Kueh - PC Meal

It had been a busy week after my trip and most of the time I was either in office or at home doing work using PC. I had no appetite for the usual food sold outside yet I didn't have the time to cook all 3 meals to satisfy my hunger. I needed to plan E-meals, something that could be kept inside the fridge, consumed while at work, and heated up anytime.

My definition of "E-meal" - A non-hassle and healthy meal that can be eaten in front of electronic devices/equipment, for instance PC and TV, without having to walk around too much.

Chicken and pumpkin Mee Sua Kueh seemed easy and healthy enough to be kept inside the fridge for future consumption (within 3 days), rather than having to keep going to the kitchen to find things to cook. It is great food for kids and elderly too! I chose not to mix the chicken into the mee sua as I wanted to have the "Loh Mai Gai aka Glutinuous Chicken Rice" effect.

Kuching - Sarikei Food Trip

It had been more than a year since I last travelled out of Singapore (excluding Johor Bahru) and finally the chance came for me to go on a trip. I needed to find good quality Mee Sua to do up the Mee Sua series in this blog and the best Mee Sua are supposedly found in Perak and Sarawak. So which is better? I have tried Sitiawan Perak's Mee Sua and the verdict was VERY GOOD! As for Sarawak's Mee Sua, I only read about how good it was from other blogs. It was time for me to find out now by travelling personally to the small town of Sarikei. However I would need to stop by Kuching first because how could I have been to Sarawak if I have never been to Kuching yet? Hence I went ahead and booked the air tickets, the hotel rooms, the day tour, and researched + planned my itinerary. Off went DT and I on our 5 days food adventure from Singapore to Kuching to Sarikei!

Bittergourd & Cucumber Chicken Gravy Mee Sua - Cool the Summer Heat

Hot Hot Summer heat!! What is best eaten to cool the body down? Cucumbers & bittergourds are known for relieving of body heat so... let's do it with mee sua and chicken!
Below is a recipe that was cooked and eaten some time early last week when fan and aircon couldn't even do a good job chasing heat off permanently... It was good and made me feel chilled and healthier for that day. I hope that this works for you too.

Curry Chicken Mee Sua - Flame Me Up More!

The weather is a killer here for the past few days. Sparse clouds in the skies while Mr Sun rays as fierce as he pleases. It did rain but really, the droplets evaporated quickly away as soon as they touched the ground. It might be a warm afternoon but I still craved for a bowl of flaming spicy curry. Maybe all the perspiration from eating that could cool me down... This reminded me of my friend who felt that people should eat ice-cream on cold winter nights.

Mee Sua again! I will never grow tired of it because it is such a comfort food. It took me 1 hour to plan my Curry Mee Sua recipe and off I was to buy all the ingredients. The total cost wasn't cheap but such craving comes just once in a blue moon... As health doesn't really permit, I had to come up with the healthier version.
OH MY LOVE!

Beancurd Chives Fried Mee Sua - A Non-Meaty Meal

I have been eating fried mee sua from the food stalls outside. They are tasty but oily & some stalls added lots of MSG. Hence I decided to try to cook a plate for myself; Home-cooked fried mee sua that is not so oily & without MSG!
SOFT AND SMOOTH TASTE!

Cabbage & Corn Omelette Mee Sua Soup - Rainy Start, Warm Outcome

It's a cool & rainy morning. I need to make it a habit not to laze around in bed in this wonderful weather. Naturally the main motivation to pull myself out of it is to think of a warm & soupy breakfast. Mee Sua is my current interest and there's only a bunch of it from Sitiawan left in the fridge. I'll have to make the most out of it. Let's see what ingredients I can find...
